Game Day Guide

By Tony, 02/05/20, 11:00AM CST

Let's get ready to play!

We officially kick off our Spring soccer season this Saturday and I hope everyone is ready to play soccer.  To help prepare for the day, please check out our Game Day Guide.

  1. Know your game start time, your warm-up start time, and field location.
  2. Game schedules are posted on the Coquille website.  You must login to your account to see your player’s schedule.  For detailed instructions on accessing your game schedule, click here.
  3. Warm-up times and locations are provided by the coach.
  4. Review the Coquille Field Map.  Know where you are going and the best way to get there.  Parking is limited, so be prepared to enjoy a bit of walking.  Parking is available around the Great Lawn, so that should help with the 5U-8U games.
  5. Always check the Rain Hotline to ensure fields are open before heading to the park: 985-892-9829 ext 1
  6. Be prepared for game reschedules in the event fields close and games cancel.  Any games not played on Saturday will automatically be rescheduled for Sunday (start time + 4 hours).  Ensure you are communicating with your coach to be prepared for this.
  7. Have the right uniform and equipment.
  8. Be prepared to support your team!
  9. Know the rules of the game.Check out our rules web page for short videos and rules by age group.
  10. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
  11. Cheer your team on, but be careful not to distract the players from the game.  Soccer is a fast-paced and complex game that requires 100% mental focus.  It’s impossible for your child to listen to your instructions and play the game at the same time.  A well-timed comment from a coach will be enough to help them learn and enjoy the game at the same time.

We are looking forward to a great soccer season and we are glad to have you as part of the MYB Soccer family.  Good luck to all the players, and please enjoy the games!
